Am I Good Enough To Go To Heaven?

Rev 21:21b
And the street of the city was pure gold,

There are many who have erroneously assumed that they will be accepted into heaven based on the supposed goodness of their lives. Many have trusted in doctrines that teach various types of works as criterion for entrance into heaven. But, contrary to these doctrinal and traditional systems of beliefs, there is only one way that acceptance into heaven will be granted, and that way is Jesus Christ. For, it is recorded in the Holy Bible:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

So, there most certainly is a criterion for entry into heaven, but, it is not what we think that matters, but what God has said. Consider how Jesus answered the query of Nicodemus:
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 3:3

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
John 3:5

So, a definite criterion for entry into heaven is the New Birth, to be born of water (His Holy Word) and the Spirit (His Holy Spirit) man cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Some believe that some act of sacrifice, such as dying in the process of killing those who reject their system of beliefs will gain them entry into Gods heaven. But we are reminded in the Bible that:
Rev 22:14-15
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Unfortunately, these have believed a lie to their detriment. Heaven is reserved for the righteous, those who have accepted Gods provision for them, Jesus Christ the Righteous. And are thereby made righteous themselves, by their trusting in Him. Thus enabling them access to the Heavenly City.

Rev 21:27
And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Rev 22:11
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Rev 22:1
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Rev 22:17
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Rev 22:20-21
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Please Pray this prayer with me:

God, thank you for showing me my need to be saved, and thank you for providing me an escape from the penalty of sin. Jesus, come into my heart and be the Lord of my life, I repent of my sin and receive your loving sacrifice as my own. Thank You.
